LOOSE DIAMONDS & DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RINGS

Every person’s experience is different when it comes to purchasing an engagement ring. And it should be. Engagement rings are a deeply personal reflection of your love story and your personality as a couple.

One of the most important aspects of an engagement ring is the center stone. Diamonds are rare, beautiful, desirable, and durable. No two diamonds are alike, which is why so many customers take their time shopping loose diamonds and choosing one that matches their priorities within their budget.

Maybe you know exactly what you want in a diamond – the shape, the carat size, the color. Maybe you don’t. No matter where you are in the process, Henne Jewelers will work with you to create your dream ring.

SHOPPING FOR A LOOSE DIAMOND – WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?

If you’ve done some searches online, you may know about the 4 Cs and some of the considerations that go into choosing a loose diamond. At the end of the day, it’s about selecting the prettiest diamond that fits within your budget and getting the best value. And at Henne Jewelers, that’s what we strive to do for every single customer.

SELECTING YOUR DIAMOND WITH A HENNE EXPERT

Our diamond experts at Henne hand-select the stones we ultimately offer to our clients. We inspect and sift through hundreds of natural diamonds before purchasing the handful that are the highest quality and the best value. Every diamond we sell comes with an upgrade guarantee.

When you contact Henne Jewelers, we’ll work to determine the options available for you. If you want to choose the setting and the loose diamond, we’ll sift through dozens of stones and select a few options to show you that match the quality factors that are important to you in terms of carat weight, color, clarity, and cut (shape). We’ll give you the opportunity to look at each diamond in person and under magnification if you wish, so you can choose the absolute best diamond to complete your ring.

If you want to purchase an engagement ring that is ready to go and is set with a diamond, we have a great selection. Similarly, if you fall in love with a completed ring and want to swap out the center diamond(s) with your own chosen diamond, we usually can do that as well.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT DIAMOND LABORATORIES & CERTIFICATIONS

There is a lot to consider with diamond laboratories and certifications. There are many ‘certified’ diamonds out there, but numerous standards of quality among the laboratories.

At Henne we only sell natural diamonds certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or American Gem Society (AGS), both of whom are non-profit organizations that set the industry standard for excellence. The GIA’s grading system is recognized, used, and trusted worldwide.

ALTERNATIVE CENTER STONES FOR ENGAGEMENT RINGS

More and more couples are looking for different gems and stones to use for their engagement rings in lieu of the traditional center diamond. In fact, it’s one of the most popular engagement ring trends for 2018.

There are a lot of reasons why diamonds are the most desirable option for an engagement ring. However, gemstones are alternatives for couples looking to show personality or customize a ring.

If you’d like to go this route, we’ll be happy to work with you and create your dream ring. If you’re looking for a stone that is light in color, we suggest white sapphire or white spinel. If you’re looking for stones with color other than a colored diamond, there are many options. Sapphires come in virtually every color in the rainbow. We also have created rings for customers using morganite, aquamarine, chrysoberyl, spinel, fancy colored diamonds and more.

The process for selecting an alternative stone with Henne is similar to choosing a diamond. We can provide several high-quality options for your desired gemstone so you can look at them in person, compare, and ultimately select the one that you like the best.

HENNE’S LOOSE DIAMOND SOURCING & THE KIMBERLEY PROCESS

At Henne Jewelers we are deeply passionate about running our business with integrity, fairness, and sound business practices. With that in mind, we’ve taken many steps to ensure that we purchase our diamonds, gemstones, and gold with ethical sourcing methods and from conflict-free zones.

  • We of course adhere to the Kimberley Process.
  • We sell stones that comply with the World Diamond Council System of Warranties.
  • We provide a country/region of origin certification on nearly every colored precious stone that we sell.
  • We fully disclose all treatments (if any) applied to the precious stones we offer for sale as per the FTC and CIBJO guidelines.
  • We do not deal in ivory or any other material listed as endangered or restricted by CITES or the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services.
  • More than half of the gold and platinum we use in-house to manufacture or repair jewelry is recycled or sourced from refiners that recycle our material.

Finally, we are members of the American Gem Society, Jewelers of America and employ gemologists holding GIA, AGS and Gem-A credentials – all of whom operate via strict ethical standards.
