  • Reinterprets the 62GS, which debuted in 1967 as the brand’s first automatic mechanical watch
  • Bezel-less dial

What makes this watch interesting:

  • The light blue dial design draws inspiration from what’s known as Omiwatari, a winter phenomenon that occurs when Lake Suwa (located near the Grand Seiko Shinshu Watch Studio) freezes completely, forming raised ridges on its surface
  • Tempered blue hands that glide effortlessly over the dial

Why David loves it:

  • It’s slim, dressy and distinguished
  • The crocodile leather strap makes this watch even more comfortable to wear and refined

  • The “snowflake” dial is inspired by the Hotaka mountain range (visible from the Grand Seiko Shinshu Watch Studio, which is blanketed with snow each year and whose fierce winds carve distinctive patterns on its surface.
  • The dial isn’t painted white, but rather is crafted using a special silver-plating process that allows the delicate texture of snow to be replicated perfectly.

The dial is classically white but has subtle light texture that sets it apart
