How they met
Josh and Genta met at a mutual friend's birthday celebration at Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. He knew there was something special when they first started talking. He comments that he thought she was strikingly beautiful, but also extremely intelligent and well-spoken. They realized they have a lot in common, similar viewpoints and passions.
Throughout the year, they grew closer and closer both in their love for one another and their Christian faith. They even became “foodies” wanting to try every restaurant in town…she even got Josh to like sushi, something he thought he would never say. The past year can most definitely be described as the best year of their lives…finding “The One” is exciting and can sometimes be so unexpected.
About the Proposal
After countless attempts to try and set up a proposal in D.C,, Josh realized it would be more meaningful and personal if he proposed to Genta in Lynchburg, VA where she went to school at Liberty University.
The couple headed back there for Liberty’s homecoming and he knew that there had to be a special place for him to get on one knee in town. On the Sunday they were to head back to DC, they went downtown to get a coffee and walk around. Earlier that weekend, they noticed an area by the river with a beautiful bridge, overlooking the mountains with the leaves starting to change colors. The area mimics the famous Pont des Arts bridge in Paris where happy couples place a padlock with their names or initials on the railings for all to see. It was just Josh and Genta, no one else around to take pictures or to clap from afar. It was a personal moment that Josh wanted just for the two of them. She was not expecting Josh to propose that weekend, so when he got down on one knee, she looked at him with her mouth open and was taken aback. She said “YES!” and from there, the rest of the day was filled with joyful and happy tears, calls to family members, and one of the best car rides back to DC they will ever have.
