Jake Proposes to Rachel with an Engagement Ring from Henne Jewelers

Rachel & Jake

How they met

Jake and Rachel first met in first grade at George Washington Elementary school. In fourth grade, Jake had a crush on Rachel because she was the only girl in their class that could pronounce his last name correctly. Fast forward to high school, Jake was a part of the varsity hockey team and each year the team held a skate for kids with autism. Jake was paired with her brother, Hunter, and by the end of the day, Hunter could not stop talking about how awesome he thought Jake was. He even hung a picture that was taken of him and Jake on their fridge. Rachel was so grateful that he made her brother feel so special that she decided to thank him. They got to talking and ended up going to homecoming together that year. Seven years later and they are more in love than ever!

About the Proposal

On Jake’s birthday, Rachel traveled home to Pittsburgh thinking that they were going out to dinner to celebrate him turning 24. Little did she know, his brother would be picking her up to take her all over her hometown. When Jake’s brother, Tommy, pulled up, he handed her a letter that said “Rachel, go to the place where we had our first date, and I got nachos all over my face!” Tommy and Rachel headed to Gil’s Diner, where they had their first date. When they got there, the hostess handed Rachel another letter that said, “Go to the place, you must hurry now, where we first met hanging at the playground”. So Tommy and Rachel made their way over to the elementary school where Jake and Rachel had first met. Inside of the jungle gym, she found another note that read, “Go to the place that you like two ways: It was your favorite movie, and you could eat there every day”. She knew right away this was her favorite restaurant, Aladdin’s Eatery, where Jake and Rachel had spent many dates. When they got there the hostess handed her the last letter which read, “Go to the place that is special to me: where we locked up our love and threw away the key”. The last stop was the Roberto Clemente Bridge, where Jake and Rachel had locked a lock on the bridge and threw the keys into the river a few years ago. So Tommy and Rachel head downtown to the bridge and that’s when she finally saw Jake, and he asked her to marry him!

And of COURSE, she said yes!
