Austin Proposes to Emily with an Engagement Ring from Henne Jewelers in Pittsburgh

Austin & Emily

Their story:

Austin and Emily met during their first year of college at Georgia Tech in the fall of 2010, where they took many classes together and became great friends right away. They started dating their sophomore year and continued to date through long distance, as Austin took a co-op with BMW in Greenville, then Emily studied abroad in Greece and Italy, and finally Austin worked a 6-month internship in Munich. They enjoyed learning a lot together--including physics and calculus and computer science... as well as studying the Bible and learning how to swing dance! They graduated together from Georgia Tech in December 2015.

The proposal:

After graduation, Austin and Emily continued long distance dating. Emily moved to Austin, Texas, and Austin started a rotational management program that took him from Chicago to Louisiana to North Carolina.

It was at the end of his time in Chicago that Emily came up to visit and help him pack to move to Louisiana. While she was there, Austin took her to Lincoln Park to see the lake shore.

She was completely surprised when he knelt down to his backpack and then looked up at her holding a Henne ring box!

After Emily said yes, they went to the rooftop of Cindy's for a toast and celebrated their way through downtown Chicago the whole afternoon.

It was, in her words, the "first" best day ever.

The wedding:

Austin and Emily got married at the Catholic Cathedral of Christ the King in downtown Atlanta on July 8, 2017, surrounded by their closest friends and family. The wedding was filled with tradition, faith and family--three of the absolute most important things to Austin and Emily.

Today, Austin and Emily continue to live in Chicago. They shared they absolutely love their Henne engagement and wedding rings. It was so special for them to pick out their rings in the same place where Emily's parents had gotten theirs. (Her brother also shopped with Henne.)

Austin and Emily,
