To Have and To Hold
Jack and Nancy Henne
We met at a Pittsburgh Ski Club meeting. For Nancy, it was love at
first sight. There were many difficult challenges but we didn't blame
each other. Instead we worked together and that strengthened our
marriage. Divorce was never an option. As the difficulties came,
we found we had to trust that we would be successful if we put the
other person's needs ahead of our own. We've been blessed with good
friends and family who have supported and prayed for us. We began
mentoring couples preparing for marriage 12 years ago, at Jack's
prompting. We teach them to be married God's way and it has been
a boomerang. Our marriage is so much better. We are more emotionally
intimate. We truly learned that we are equal but different. Jack is the
head and Nancy the heart. A woman has great influence and God blesses
when there is His order. A man can truly achieve his potential as a wife
respects him and he in turn loves her. It works! We are married 42
years with 3 outstanding children and 3 wonderful spouses and 8
grandchildren. Nancy always says I love him more now than ever.
